Baptism

I felt the sadness engulf me, crushing me with its weight, tearing me apart from the inside. Everything I had ever loved, ever cherished, ever dreamed of was gone.

I was alone in this cruel world, with no one to comfort me, no one to understand me, no one to love me. I was sinking deeper and deeper into the abyss of despair… but then something changed.

I felt a surge of energy, a spark of life, a flicker of hope. I felt myself rising from the depths, breaking free from the chains of sorrow. I felt a new emotion, a new sensation, a new perspective. I felt wonder. I felt awe. I felt alive. I had shifted.

I looked around me and saw the world in a different light. I saw beauty where there was once ugliness. I saw joy where there was once pain. I saw possibility where there was once hopelessness. I saw myself where there was once nothing. I had shifted.
